This is a lovely tribute. I met Dan when I was 9 years old. He gave me a pencil on my first day at a new school. We were roommates after high school. He never let me indulge in my own bullshit, but was still my kindest friend. He's the only person that ever wrote me a love letter. I will miss him forever.

I met Dan a while back when I was still living in PGH (back in BFLO, NY with family due to loss of job). We played Ticket to Ride, Timeline, and a few others. I agree, he did not go easy on you even if you were just learning! We became good friends. I got to meet his mom and we talked about her health and how worried he was. After I left, we continued to communicate about life in general, our mutual job worries, both of our battles with anxiety. We both loved the space programs and compared our experience with the solar eclipse. I visited PGH a few times but we weren't able to always connect due to illness 😕. He was devastated when he mom died and we had long conversations about how he felt. He said Thanksgiving was hard as it was always just the two of them. We shared many funny memes as well. He had a unique sense of humor. He gave the greatest of bear hugs when he was up to it. I miss him dearly. I see memes and videos that I know he would have a witty comment about and I can't send them. Rest in peace Dan among the stars. 💫
